With Gratitude: H.B. Benjamin Bequest

The Res Board accepted a most generous donation of $378,480.36 from the estate of Jack and Helen Benjamin on April 10, 2017. Jack and Helen were both Mishawaka High School graduates. After Jack retired from the Air Force, the couple returned to Mishawaka. They were never blessed with children of their own, but wanted to make a difference for the youth of Mishawaka. The Mishawaka Res and Mishawaka High School were named as beneficiaries of their estate. The majority of the money that The Res received was put into their endowment fund at the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. A smaller portion will go toward improvements and maintenance of The Res. This bequest will secure the future of The Res for many years.
