Volunteers Needed: Garlic Mustard Pull

Join us at The Res, 13950 Scout Ln., Mishawaka, IN 46544, May 4th, to pull Garlic Mustard from 9am to 11pm. Bring your work gloves! Sign up HERE.

Garlic Mustard is an invasive plant here, which means it is an exotic species (not native) that outcompetes the native flora and fauna. The plant is able to outcompete the native plants because it does not have natural controls here such as animals, insects, and climate. Garlic Mustard is native to Europe and was introduced for medicinal and culinary use. They emerge in the spring so now is the time to get them out before they seed! The seeds can stay viable in the ground for up to 10 years!

Volunteers from last year removed 19,800 Garlic Mustard!!!
